The University Golf Club Weekend Men’s Club
Membership is now closed for 2023. We currently have 38 members on our waitlist and have currently closed signups. If you are interested in joining for 2024 or beyond, please monitor our website as our Wait-List will be opening up on March 1 to March 15, 2024.
We are a ~150 member men’s club playing at the University Golf Club in beautiful Vancouver, BC. Our club has regular tee times every Saturday and Sunday, and we play a mix of social and competitive individual and team events. We also hold approximately one tournament a month, with 4 major tournaments a year. Our club has a great history with two of our tournaments beginning when the golf course opened in 1931.
Some benefits to joining our club:
- New membership to the club is $310. This includes your BCGA membership, Golf Canada membership, year end banquet, tournament prizes, and KP’s.
- Renewal membership is $260 (2023) per year. Individual players are responsible for their own green fees.
- Our weekend tee times are approximately between 8:30am – 10:30am. Sign up is through our website, and players are randomly placed into foursomes on both days.
- Some tournaments require a minimum number of rounds played with the club (usually 5) to be eligible.
- Due to increasing demand, we are now requiring 8 rounds a year be played within club times during our competitive season (Ice Breaker - Oct 31) in order to retain your membership for the following year
- Our club has a mixture of social and competitive golf. It is a great way to test your game competitively and meet new people.
- We have a variety of individual and team tournament formats including individual match play, team match play, alternate shot format, and stroke play.
- Our club is registered with BCGA, and our member’s handicaps are recorded with Golf Canada. Don’t have a handicap? Start playing with us, and entering your scores into Golf Canada. After 5 rounds your handicap will be registered and you can start to perfect your game!
- Playing in a club is a great way to improve your game and meet new people.
- Our club plays by the Golf Canada Rules of Golf. If you are unsure of some of the rules it is a great opportunity to learn them.
- Joining our club is a great way to improve your game! Join our executive. Join us on the weekends to meet new members and challenge your game!
- Beginning March 1, 2023, players on our waitlist will be asked for a $50, non-refundable payment to hold their place. Privileges of being on the waitlist include the ability to play in club times when space is available. Applicants with current Golf Canada memberships can and are expected to participate in Sunday slots when they come out.
